Cable Tray
What is Cable Tray?
The tray-type cable tray adopts a flat bottom and low edges on both sides to form a shallow trough structure, which is suitable for carrying multiple cables. It is characterized by flexible installation, good ventilation and heat dissipation, and can prevent cables from sliding, but it is less dustproof. The tray-type cable tray is usually made of galvanized steel, aluminum alloy or fiberglass, suitable for the laying of power cables and control cables, and is commonly seen in industrial plants, data centers, commercial buildings and other scenes. Its advantages are low cost and moderate load-bearing capacity, which is suitable for medium-scale cable wiring needs.
Key Structural Features
Base: A flat load-bearing surface for laying cables evenly.
Side Edges: Typically 20-50mm low edges to prevent cables from slipping.
Open Design: Perforated or open structure for heat dissipation and drainage.
Connection Method: Bolted, clamped, or welded for flexible expansion.
Core Advantages
Moderate Load Capacity: Suitable for dense routing of small to medium-sized cables (typically ≤50kg/m).
Good Heat Dissipation: Open structure provides better ventilation than enclosed trays, reducing overheating risks.
Flexible Installation: Supports horizontal, vertical, or angled layouts for complex environments.
Cost-Effective: More economical than channel-type or ladder-type trays.
Comparison with Other Tray Types
| Feature | Tray-Type | Channel-Type | Ladder-Type | Ladder-Type |
| Structure | Shallow trough + low edges | Fully/semi-enclosed | Ladder rungs + side rails | Metal mesh |
| Protection | Prevents cable slippage | Dust/water/EMI-proof | Poor dust protection | Fully open |
| Load Capacity | Moderate (≤50kg/m) | Medium (requires reinforced cover) | High (≥100kg/m) | Low (≤30kg/m) |
| Typical Use | General power distribution | Sensitive circuits, hazardous areas | Heavy industry, power mains | Data centers, low-voltage cabling |
